Let’s Talk About The PRP Facial
Our PRP Facial is one of our hero treatments at Glo Haus, so chances are you’ve heard of this skin-rejuvenating miracle worker before. But what exactly is a PRP Facial, and how is it different to Skin Needling?
Skin Needling and PRP Facials are both advanced skin treatments with minimal to no downtime. Through the use of micro-needles, Skin Needling creates a controlled trauma to the skin that promotes the skin’s healing phase, encouraging cell rejuvenation and collagen and elastin synthesis. During a PRP Facial, a small amount of your blood is drawn at the start of the treatment and the Platelet-Rich Plasma is then extracted. Known for its healing and strengthening properties, the plasma is infused back into the skin through the process of Skin Needling.
Incredible results can be achieved with either treatment and a combination of the two is often advised as part of a personalised treatment plan. The result is a reduction in wrinkles and scarring, as well evening the overall tone and texture of the skin. PRP is also a popular treatment for under eye concerns such as fine lines, skin laxity and dark circles.
It’s important to note a compulsory consultation is required to ensure suitability. The skin must also be adequately prepped prior to both of these treatments, to ensure optimal results with minimal down time and recovery. Peak results can vary but for most clients, 7 days post PRP is when you will start to see your skin become more plump, dewy and refined. To experience the maximum, long-term effects of PRP a series of 3-6 treatments is generally recommended. This will be discussed with your Skin Therapist at your first appointment.
